Salvation

We are tasked by God to be stewards of both creation and those around us. As humans, we make decisions that mostly benefit ourselves. Even at our best, when we try to do what we think is right we don’t have all the information we need to make the best decisions. The Bible calls this sin because we have not done what we should have done, thus disobeying God.

No matter our pursuit of righteousness, it is not obtainable through ourselves, the law, or our will power. Jesus offered himself because God is merciful to us. It is through faith in Jesus by the grace of God that we can be saved. Therefore we must repent (turn away) from doing or following what we think is right or best and turn toward Jesus. We can ask Him to forgive us and save us from our sins.

When we call out to Him, He hears us and responds by granting to us His righteousness. Through Jesus we have access directly to God and will inherit all that God has promised through Him. We are secure in Him not because we have done well, but because He has loved us.
